great spot for exploring lucca's charm and beauty
Staying here was fantastic because it was just a few steps from the entrance to the old city walls and also super close to the train station. The staff were friendly, and the buffet breakfast met all my needs as a solo traveler.

Pleasant and comfortable hotel, had wonderful stay.
The staff was exceptionally kind and the host too. The guest room was neat, new-fashioned, with a clean bathroom. The breakfast meal was satisfactory with a very nice cappuccino served by the lady proprietor and real coffee, for example.

Located opposite tp the train station and the old town and yet quiet - good tips - breakfast well equipped and above all - dishes were various! Parking in front of the hotel; relatively easy to find from the motorway.
Unfortunately a bit worn, but still OK! Various things could need a little change.

Breakfast o.k. Staff very friendly and helpful. All very clean. Location: just outside the city wall, very close to the station - ideal for visiting Pisa, Pistoia, Prato, Florence. Restaurant with very good price/performance ratio very close by ("Francesco"); table reservation by hotel.
Given the relatively low price, it would be unfair to expect more.

Top location, very friendly staff, breakfast prepared very lovingly, I was only missing the fresh fruit.

This hotel was so dated, the only time I felt pampered was when I got to sit on the hard bed. The shower? More of a phone booth. Woudl ve been nice to have received an upgrade, but I guess they save that treatment for the 'special' guests. Almost gave a good review, but just couldn't.

Super location directly at the train station and 5 minutes to the old town, private parking, very rich breakfast, very nice hotel staff, everything fits. It was not the first time we were guests at the Rex - and certainly not the last time! And to say goodbye you get a little present!
Well, the shower stall is not for fat people.
